Definitely a unique show, and worth seeing.  Nice visual style and integration of live scenes!

One thing I didn't enjoy:  Basing the entire plot of shows on psychology "explanations" that seem to ignore anything that came after Freud and Jung.  I don't understand why writers seem to think it's good writing to say that "repression" and "stress" are the cause of every single psychological malady.  This is (almost) 2010, not 1950.  If those ideas were new or creative, they'd be fine, but almost every single movie or show just falls back on these boring and dead-horse-kicking explanations.

I am usually all about titles that air during the noitaminA time slot, but after watching 3 episodes I could not take this shit anymore.
Does it get any better? Does something actually happen?

Nothing much changes throughout the series--all the episodes feel more or less similar, and follow the same sort of arc.  There's some cursory attempt to tie the episodes/stories/characters together as the series goes on, but it feels forced.  If you haven't started liking it by episode three, you probably should just move on to something else.

Ok first I have to say that I haven't seen this show (yet anyway).
But after going through all that jazz in school about Freud and other "big thinkers" I can't really agree that they "should use their stuff" more or however I should read it.
BUT, but... Nor can I agree with only using the other peoples theories either, so you have a point in stress not being the only cause of .. whatever.
In any case it's still mostly theories that may or may not seem to be correct..
And!
I really like the OVA you've (probably) based your nick on ^^
I remember when I first saw that anime, I laughed the most out of the people watching it even though I was the one not eating meat for lame reasons. ^^
Ah.. Good times (not the not eating meat times but the times when I watched anime with lots of other folks)...

Brilliant.  This show was the first series I've ever watched beginning to end in one shot; and to think that I voted for Aoi Bungaku as "best show of 2009 you didn't watch" in GG's poll.  It is, however, one of those shows that takes a certain type of viewer to fully appreciate.  If you can appreciate a show that's not constantly laugh out loud hilarious or balls to the wall action it's worth giving this a shot.

That's not entirely correct, but I see where you're coming from.  The problem is that an anime about a normal psychiatrist writing prescriptions just wouldn't be entertaining or thought provoking.  To Trapeze's credit they do make an attempt to give accurate information, or at least refute their own misinformation, with the asides from the man in the white coat.

[gg]? Are you serious...? I'm very skeptical of this release. There's no way these guys were the only group to finish this series, right?...

Is there a problem with our subs of Trapeze?

CatSoup - Unfortunately, this reflects the state of Japanese Psychology very accurately. Nevermind the embarrassing truths that have come out about Freud, Or that Jung was a new-age mystic and made conclusions in keeping with that bias.

I've found this to be an excellent series that is completely different than anything else I've come across.

The main ideas of this series are, at least to me, an exposition of psychiatric maladies and how interconnected people are in a world full of colourful personalities.

The really amazing part of this series is that all of the stories happen simultaneously.  Some stories include foreshadowing and connections with other stories because all of the stories are happening during the week before Christmas.  The nutty psychiatrist and his sadistic (but insightful) nurse are the common thread for all of the stories.

The stories do not flow linearly from beginning to end.  Each time jump starts with the turning (ripping) of the calendar to get to the next day, whether that's forward in time or backward.  Sometimes events seem non-sequitur in one episode, but another episode fills you in on what happened.

This is a bright, colourful production with lots of quirks, humour, and interesting details.  The OP and ED are pretty cool as well.
 Thanks most kindly to the uploader and seeders!!
