I know this is a bit off topic, but can someone tell me how the el hazard series works? Like what order do they go in and if the TV is related/same as the oav? I've alway seen this series around, but never figured out which episodes goes where in the timeline. Thanks in advance.

Check the AniDB link, they have a Graph feature to show relations between the ova\'s/series.

Actually, I have to say after watching the first ova ep, I've VERY disappointed with a4e on this. ONLY the spoken words are translated, no credits and not even the plot-related written words on the screen. And there ARE written words (the post-board at the beginning of the first ep comes to mind, among others) that would have been useful in understanding the story. Plus, several of those scenes had no spoken component, so there was time in which to have read the written-related subtitles without interfering with the audio-related subtitles.

Seriously, five minutes more work would have made this a much better release.

xhale - you should be aware that a4e encoded the DVDs, they didn't do any translation.  It's not their fault, but the fault of the so-called 'professional' translation team who produced the DVDs.  I know what you mean about missing bits, but it's only really in the first episode or two - after that there aren't many written signs etc.

Waitaminnit... are there opening and ending credits for each episode?  They weren't cut, were they?

Signs are a bitch to translate and this is an old encode. If you don't like it go elsewhere.

Sick if untranslated signs? Translate them for us then.

a4e is not the best choice for El Hazard, some episodes are encoded at 30fps and contain ghost frames, makes it look bad. Anime-Takeover`s release is better on every level, it also has remastered japanese audio tracks with better sound effects and some modified voices and they have corrected some mistakes in the subtitles. Anime-Takeover`s release is on Boxtorrents under the name "El Hazard The Magnificient World OVA 1"

This is worth watching.  Although in my opinion not as good as Tenchi Muyo it is still good.  The video is very clear and both of the audio work well.  The only thing that it needs is 4 or 5 more episodes.
