In my point of view you can watch the first movie after episode 26. Every main character, until then, has been introduced.

yeah if by complete you all the episodes that were made. 167 is th last one and it doesnt END the story... angry and embarrassed i didnt do my homework an realise sooner. probably wouldnt have stopped me anyway though.

If anyone is interested the correct watching order is: -
Eps 1-55, Movie 1, Eps 56-95, Movie 2, Eps 96-136, Movie 3, Eps 137-167, Movie 4.
After that its onto Inuyasha Kanketsuhen to finish the Story, although thats only aired up to ep 6 so far
