This OVA tried to look like Evangelion by mimicking it all the way (even the mecha design looks exactly like the Evas)and adding some new elements.Although it's not an attempt that you could call succesful,it's a quite enjoyable OVA that won't make you bored,but don't expect it to become a landmark in your anime collection.

This show is in my opinion one of the worst shows ever made. It seems to be one of those anime studio "C" grade plots they have in reserve against the day they have nothing else better to do than to have something to train new people with.
I own the actual official DVD which I purchased sight unseen without reading reviews (back then I just bought almost everything that came out). This opinion is from the official DVD and not from the download.

That's what I was like at the the end. But I liked it though. I saw just a piece of first ep. of neon genesis evangelion(which is being praised over and over by everyone - I say that because I read a few opinions comparing these two shows,calling Devadasy the spin-off and underdog) and must say I found NGE somewhat irritating , that's why just a piece. Maybe I'll give it try again later, but considering the quantity of anime available I really feel like I won't force myself to. I found Devadasy quite enjoyable( not saying it was perfect or something -> 3*/5*) The show also might have been a bit longer.
